Hostel Casa do Caminheiro
Casa do Caminheiro was once a former primary school located in the schist village of Talasnal. It closed its doors in 1975 and was later rebuilt with money sent by the village’s emigrants.
Located amidst the mountains of Lousã, in the village of Talasnal, The Casa do Caminheiro is just 12km by car and 5km on foot to the town of Lousã. Surrounded by lush forest, guests are invited to enjoy nature at its finest, whatever the season.
The hostel consists of 5 bunkbeds, allowing sleep accommodation for 10 people. It has a fully equipped kitchen and bathrooms/changing rooms.
If guests do not wish to cook, they can enjoy traditional dishes from the village restaurants or if they prefer, the many choices in the town of Lousã.
The hostel is based on a mountain lodge concept, it does not provide Wi-Fi and guests are advised to bring sleeping bags and towels.
