Terreiro das Bruxas (Meeting Point) – Casa do Guarda - Lousã Wood letters (Chiqueiro Schist Village) - Cabril Tank - Renato´s Swing
Lousã mountain range is a place of magic with its sheer abundance of flora and fauna, breath-taking views, mystical misty mornings and unique landscape. The mountains offer a wide range of activities, be it creative, artistic, cultural or sport, attracting attention on a growing scale. Rich in wildlife with deer, hogs and fawns that camouflage themselves between the abundant array of chestnut, oak, cork and, of course, Pine trees.
The numerous pedestrian/ bike trails that take you all the way up to St. Antonio das Neves and the highest point of Trevim, back down to the castle of Lousã and the river beach of Srª da Piedade.
The mountains of Lousã are part of Natura 2000, which ensures long term wildlife safety in its natural habitat in Europe’s most threatened locations. With its 15.158 acres covering the flattened peaks of the mountain, the impressive quartzite ridges of Penedos de Gois (1048m) and the Sobral woods, rich in cork oak in the Sacões mountain. It covers the highest part of Castanheira de Pera, Figueiró dos Vinhos, lousã e Miranda do Corvo municipalities.
Due to the accentuated orography and the climatic variants, the existing vegetation is diversified, with the occurrence of holm oaks in the driest and sunniest areas and oak woods in the most humid and cold areas. The numerous water lines, almost all of a permanent nature, feed the hydrographic basins of the Mondego and Zêzere rivers and are of great importance for the fauna species, such as the Lusitanian-salamander. It is also home to deer and roe-deer.
The mountains of Lousã offer endless leisure possibilities, with 8 municipalities, 12 Schist Villages and 1204m to explore.

This route can be done by joelette, a one-wheeled chair used for taking people with reduced mobility trekking and hiking.
Each case will be discussed individually regarding the cost, considering the need of two assistants for the chair.
